Such A Deal?

So I thought I would never shop at this store but today I got a top that would actually fit me for $4.49 + tax and it came with a $10 gift card and a free tote bag! WOW. Was it worth it considering B96 was there? I am not sure. Honestly reconsidering if I want to give my $ to a place that supports the culture of grade school age girls listening to music about clubbing…starting them in shopping and spending and celebrity worship…yeah ok no, nope, nuh-uh.  I love a free thing but I think I’ll find somebody to give this stuff to.

This is usually when people tell me I’m too serious about this and it doesn’t matter…but I think I’m a link in a chain and you never know what kind of effect I might have if I decide not to shop somewhere and actually tell people why. AND it’s not like there is no other place on earth that I can buy clothes! I’m not even really trying to bash the place but I just don’t think I can “hang.”

Mop Pad

Hi everybody – I have ordered flannel cleaning cloths and most recently dinner napkins from this seller on Etsy called moocowmomma. I highly recommend her shop and I highly recommend doing exactly what I did as part of the frugal/eco makeover of my home – switch to rags and cloths for dusting and cleaning and stop buying the disposable stuff…don’t throw away what you already have of course just use those up and order the cloths…stop using paper napkins and get these flannels – they are listed as paper towels in her shop but that was what turned out to be perfect for me for napkins…ANYWAY…check out her shop and give all these things a try – I even have a duster thing that I can wash – LOVE IT.

SHOP WITH MOOCOWMOMMA

And moocowmomma – here’s the dimensions for that new swiffer wet that I got. I took some pictures of it and drew a quick sketch of how I measured it out. I hope that helps – I am obviously challenged in this area.

Ok and here’s the dimensions…

The bottom is 4.5″long and 10.5″ wide, the velcro strips are 9.5″ long, there’s a .5″ space between the side of the pad and the strip, and I think that’s it…

Thanks moocowmomma!

Etsy will you be my Valentine?

Oh boy did we ever just get a bunch of great things from Etsy! I got some presents from Dave for Valentine’s Day, I got his present there and I got a bunch of neat stuff for the home.

First check out this purple heart coffee cozy that I got – AND – it’s a total action shot of me actually drinking coffee with it here. WOAH! I know. Pretty exciting. Actually what’s more exciting is that I’m wearing my new favorite skirt that I got at the Salvation Army and a new apron top from Target. An apron already in my shirt? Ohhhhh yeah!

OOPS! Sorry I spelled that wrong in the watermark there – it’s YaY! Jewelry – thanks Kristin! And check out her other very cool site Recovery Rosary – what a great idea!

I also got the soaps that I am going to use to make laundry detergent AND a lavendar soap that I can’t wait to try. Before I know it I’ll be done with those soaps in a pump that I’ve got and I’ll be switching to the bars of soaps for my hands — except 1 antibacterial soap at each sink for Dave.

Click on the image to visit Joans Gardens at Etsy – mmmmmmmmmm great stuff!

And last but not least, another Valentine’s Day gift from Dave…ohhhhhh it is so wonderful it is my 2 favorite things – something coffee themed  and a purse!

cathystotesshop -wow it’s very impressive!

I just got my napkins in to but I’ll have to save that for another post. I heart Etsy big time and I just couldn’t be happier with the sellers that I’ve had as well.

The Fishy Sweater

WOW I had a long and hot but very awesome trip to the Salvation Army yesterday! I’m trying to buy as many clothes used as I can. I spent about $28 and walked out with a huge bag of clothes! This sweater – I didn’t even think it would fit – I had to buy it even if all I did was cut out the fish and things from it and add it to something else. I love that funky fabric down the middle with those giant buttons – it reminds me of Ritz Cracker tins – which is always what I refer to when I’m trying to reference the things I loved from the 70’s. Anyway, it turned out that all my clothes were half off and I’m just a very happy camper about the whole thing.

Anyway it could actually use just a little TLC – some button tightening and I think I may actually get out the sweater shaver. I heart this sweater! Is that a bird head on a fish body up there? Oh my.

The Blog Exhibit is OPEN!

Well, thanks to Marisha it is!

So I had installed WP through my cPanel just fine – but actually getting a theme in there was not happenin. It was Marisha to the rescue as usual with my online coding, etc. issues.

So what’s the deal with Helen’s Habitat and having a blog too? That’s a great question. I’m glad I pretended that you asked it.

So some things are worthy of me having the website for like my foot stuff, some domestic things – I could have a whole page for those things. AND if I do it that way then I can decorate with all the country graphics that I love so much! And then there’s things like what I bought at the Salvation Army yesterday – it’s a one time thing so I’d rather blog about it.

So yes…Helen’s Habitathas other exhibits as well and I hope you come by to visit.

Thanks Marisha!
